Mario Gianani was born in Rome in 1970. In 2001 he founded Offside with Saverio Costanzo, and in 2009 he established Wildside with Lorenzo Mieli. Wildside combines the cinematographic experience of Gianani’s Offside and the television experience of Mieli’s Wildside and, in a few years, has made a name for itself in the Italian and international scene, producing award-winning movies with the likes of Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bellocchio and Saverio Costanzo, marking its presence at Europe’s most important festivals (Cannes, Venice, Berlin). The company also produces many successfulcomedies including the 2014 European Film Awards winner “The Mafia Only Kills In Summer” directed by PIF, and Italy’s most watched movie of 2018 “Like a Cat on a Highway” directed by Riccardo Milani, starring comic duo Paola Cortellesi and Antonio Albanese. Wildside is also well known in the field of TV Series, producing “The Young Pope” and “The New Pope” for HBO, created and directed by Academy Award-Winning Director Paolo Sorrentino, and “My Brilliant Friend” by Saverio Costanzo, based on Elena Ferrante’s Bestseller quadrilogy. The company also produced the debut of Niccolò Ammaniti, “The Miracle”, a hit with both audiences and press in Italy and abroad, and Niccolò Ammaniti’s second series, “Anna”.

Since January 2020, Mario Gianani has been the sole CEO of Wildside.
