On November 17, the annual CEPI Assembly was held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), organized in collaboration with the Slovenian Producers Association (GIZ).

Jérôme Dechesne (USPA, France) takes over from the resigned Barbara Galavan (Screen Producers Ireland) as the new CEPI President. He will hold office until November 2017. Max Rumney’s (PACT, UK) and Werner Mueller (FAMA, Austria) candidacies for Vice-President and Treasurer were also accepted. For further information, see the press release on the CEPI website.

Topics included the following issues:

  • risks associated with the new Copyright Package regulation;
  • lack of transparency on the turnover and investments of public broadcasters and on negotiating rights;
  • difficulty in accessing Media funds.
